The Start of the 2016 Young Leaders Program | Day 1

November 14, 2016

The U.S. Spain Council kicked off this year's Young Leaders Program with a guided bus and walking tour of Madrid. The group started by visiting famous Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes' statue, which also includes his legendary characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

They then visited the Royal Palace of Madrid and Almudena Cathederal before making a quick stop at Sobrino de Botín, a restaurant founded in 1725 and is the oldest, continuously operating restaurant in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records. Our young leaders ended the night exploring Madrid's cafes and plazas while building the foundations for lasting relationships.
