Young Leaders Press Release 2026

PRESS RELEASE: 2026 United States – Spain Young Leaders Announced

For Immediate Release:

Washington, DC (April 07, 2026) – The United States–Spain Council today announce the 2026 Young Leaders Program Cohort, a distinguished group of mid-career American professionals selected to participate in one of the Council’s flagship transatlantic initiatives. From May 1 to May 8, 2026, the cohort will travel to Madrid and Palma de Mallorca for an immersive week of high-level engagement with Spain’s leading policymakers, business executives, and institutional leaders.

Organized in partnership with the Fundación Consejo España-Estados Unidos, the Young Leaders Program convenes rising leaders from government, business, academia, and civil society for direct dialogue and firsthand exposure to Spain’s economic, political, and social landscape. The program is designed to deepen cross-border understanding while cultivating a dynamic network of American leaders committed to advancing U.S.-Spain relations.

Since its inception in 2001, the program has connected more than 200 alumni, forming a robust transatlantic network dedicated to strengthening collaboration, innovation, and mutual understanding between the two nations.

“The U.S.-Spain relationship is strengthened not only through diplomacy, but through the connections formed between leaders in our societies,” said Honorary Chairman U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján. “The Young Leaders Program offers accomplished professionals a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of Spain while building relationships that carry forward the spirit of collaboration defining our transatlantic partnership.”
